Tara Yoga

In Tara Yoga practice, yoga is a way of life, not simply postures and breathing. It is a way of living spiritual integrity, commitment, and focus in all aspects of life. Yoga is the practice of finding union within oneself and with all life. Yoga is the practice of being in the present moment. When we are living consciously in the present moment, we are able to find unity. Applying this understanding in Tara Yoga, we offer a wide-range of practices that assist each student in obtaining the highest self-awareness and enlightenment. Tara Yoga Relaxing, Opening:
Our gentle practice allows you to strengthen, and stretch your body while acquiring a greater sense of your own center, peace, equanimity, balance, and higher energy. During this practice you have the opportunity to move through mental and emotional blocks. Through holding the postures and using gentle breathing your awareness will gentle settle into the present.

Tara Yoga Intensive:
Our intensive practice offes a powerful practice of discipline and focus that allows anyone from a elementary level to the advanced levels to obtain greater results from their practice. Benefits include everything from emotional and energetic clearing, mental and spiritual clarity, to kundalini experiences, and deep life-changing self-awareness and enlightenment. We rise to greet the rising sun over the ocean with Sun Salutations, Tara Yoga style. The sunrises here are spectacular. We also end the day with yoga, offering prayer as we witness and feel the sunset over Mauna Kea.

YOGA RETREATS: Are offered year round, both by Tara's founders, and by other facilitators. Email for schedule.

PranaYama:
During your stay you will have available to you many of the most extraordinary breathing techniques offering in the pranayama teachings. We combine a series of simple meditation and breath-awareness techniques with powerful pranayama which allows the student to acquire higher consciousness, great amounts of energy, emotional and energetic clearing, cellular transmutation--clearing disease and toxicity, and oxygenating the body for the highest health. Through this practice the meridian lines, chakras, and energy fields become clear and aligned. This is a practice that anyone can do and find great benefit from. Karma Yoga:
Here you will learn or further cultivate the practice of being of spiritual service in your daily life. Students find joy in offering to bring dishes to the kitchen, helping another retreat participant, and reflecting ways to enrich their service at home and everywhere! Daily discussions on Karma Yoga and mindfulness offer a wealth of spiritual and practical knowledge that enriches each participant. During your stay you will also discover how to bring your practice to nature. Learn how to become closer to nature, experience more divinity and peace through using yoga postures, breath, and yoga awareness. Journeying to our rivers, visiting the trees, beaches, and ocean offer a way for this deepening to occur.

Yoga for children:
Children love to learn postures, how to use their breath, and enjoy the freedom of creating their own postures and unique movement. Practices yoga helps children remain creative as they grow, express their emotions and thoughts clearly, find inner balance, and how to utlilize the energies in constructive ways that are meaningful and enjoyable to them. Yoga also helps brings families closer together as they particiapate in a loving, calming activitiy. Children and family classes are availalbe year-round for guests and for family retreat participants.
